Travel Cafe Eat Drink - Malaysia & Asia Curious to check-out this whimsical Galakuta Monkey izakaya located at 1st floor of a shop lot beside Soiled Out in Desa Hartamas, surprisingly the menu has a lot to offer, from beer food, ramen, sashimi, salada, yakitori and donburi too. Lunch menu was good value, you get an option to choose a side dishes with your order. Big dining hall with some cubicles and also a partition space for group dining.

Casual izakaya in Hartamas that delivers a lot of classics at reasonable prices. Really reminded me of the casual, mid-range izakaya in Japan, where nothing will blow you away but they have anything you could want and drinks aren’t expensive. I really enjoyed the marinated mackerel, which I believe is made in house, and isn’t too sour/salty, maintaining some texture in its bite. Grilled eggplant was a bit pricey but loved the miso marinade. The only real disappointment was the gizzard, which had a strong, gamey taste. I think you go here for a specific kind of drinking night, but not sure the food alone justifies a return for me

This place is a hidden gem. Run by a well mannered Japanese. Food is simple and tastes real good. The place was quiet due to my early dinner time but was gradually occupied, mostly by Japanese (and this can’t go wrong ). Sure thing this is one good izakaya for good food lovers

Great Izakaya in Desa Sri Hartamas, the foods are nice, staffs are friendly and attentive, serving is fast. The food price is so reasonable for that quality. Alcohol price for sake and shochu is also cheaper compared to the other Izakayas which is great.

The food menu here is extensive! You can find anything from finger food such as Yakitori (available from 5pm) to full blown bento sets (all-day). Food is fresh, alcohol is superbly refreshing, the plating presentation is authentically “Japanese” too! (Beautiful to look at, even more delicious to taste). I highly recommend a visit due to the affordable pricing and value for money. The Japanese owner Matsubara-san is easily one of the best, most humble people I know in my life. Kind, generous, and fun! Parking is available nearby at RM5, or if you wish, just use the public, metered parking. But it’s hard to find parking so be there early to avoid being late for your appointment!

Might be the best izakaya in the neighbourhood. Good food at fairly reasonable prices. The nankotsu is definitely worth ordering. Sashimi is well priced. There is a private area cordoned off which seats 10+ pax - shield be good for parties

The food is really good, prepared with detail and taste divine. Good selection of sake and the beer is very fresh. Have been here before and will continue to come back again.
